WHAT TO KNOW ABOUT Becoming a Provider at The Electrolysis Collective

  • Serve as an incubator for independent electrologists, through resource sharing and professional development needed to grow a sustainable practice - while making permanent hair removal more accessible to the consumer in a centralized location.

  • Many electrologists choose this field for the freedom it offers, but high startup costs and limited business experience can make it difficult to launch a practice. Our model lets you start your business now with minimal upfront investment.

At The Electrolysis Collective, you’re a self-employed business owner, not an employee. You operate under your own name, grow your client base, and use our fully supported infrastructure - including being able to accept health insurance.

Bring your skill and work ethic - we’ll support the rest.

If you ever leave TEC, you take your clients, your practice, and your insurance contracts with you.

  • 💸 How Your Money Flows: What To Expect

The numbers can get complicated (especially when insurance is involved), but we make it as simple as possible for the provider.

    Provider Earnings

Average earnings per treatment hour (after revenue split and processing fees) range from $73–$97 (rates vary by treatment area, payer, etc.)

    Revenue Split (Automatic):

    • 64% to you

    • 36% to TEC

    Expenses
TEC covers the majority of expenses.

    Providers are responsible for:

    • Stripe transaction fees + 50% of insurance claims processing fees
These scale with your business, they are based upon the volume of appointments and money processed (no fixed expense).

    • TEC Time Block fees ($15 per reserved block)
TEC invests heavily upfront in each provider, and a small Time Block fee reflects a mutual investment by the provider, while ensuring treatment rooms are reserved only when they’ll be used.

    Summary

    • Provider retains 64% of revenue

    • Revenue is automatically deposited weekly to the provider’s bank account

    • Stripe automatically deducts their fees during payment processing by client / insurance.

    • You receive two monthly invoices:

      • 50% of insurance claims processing fees

      • TEC Time Block fees

    • Average earnings remain $73–$97 per treatment hour (after split & processing fees).

    • Get started for as little as $30 / week (2 Time Blocks)

Why doesn’t TEC just charge a higher percentage and cover 100% of insurance claims processing, instead of splitting fees 50/50? Wouldn’t that be simpler?

Yes - but in some cases, providers would actually take home less $$$ due to variations in reimbursement rates and claims processing costs. While the math is complicated, splitting the fees instead of increasing TEC’s percentage results in providers retaining about $4 more per treatment hour in some cases - and we figure most providers would rather pay one monthly invoice and make more overall $$$.
